If you are looking for Jewish readings to incorporate into your wedding, Rabbi Michael Shire’s Mazal Tov! The Rituals and Customs of a Jewish Wedding includes a section of meditations about love and marriage collected from across the Jewish universe in. One of my favorites comes from The Baal Shem Tov, the great 18th century teacher of Jewish mysticism:
“From every human being there rises a light that reaches straight to heaven. And when two souls that are destined to be together find each other, their streams of light flow together, and a single brighter light goes forth from their united being.”
